Savatgy Pushes Through in Seattle, Craig Injured, McElrath Making Progress
Round 6 of the AMA Supercross Championship took place in Seattle, home of the Seahawks, with the stadium transitioning from Super Bowl celebrations to a technical Supercross battleground in a matter of days. Despite construction delays following the NFL festivities, the Feld Motor Sports team delivered a challenging and highly technical racetrack.
Weather also played a major role throughout the weekend. Persistent rain in the lead-up to race day left the circuit soft, deeply rutted, and physically demanding.

Savatgy Fights Through Illness
Joey Savatgy showed resilience under difficult circumstances, progressing to eighth in the championship standings, despite battling a stomach virus throughout the weekend.
“I was up the night before racing and couldn’t keep food down,” said Savatgy. “I wasn’t feeling well at all and didn’t improve much on race day. It definitely made things harder.”
Still, Savatgy qualified directly through his heat race and once again proved his determination in the main event, advancing from 11th to finish 8th.
“I’ve said we should be between fifth and eighth and we should be challenging for podiums, but that doesn’t mean I’m satisfied with eighth,” Savatgy added. “I want to be at the front. This weekend was tough, I was drained and my energy was low, but we’ll regroup, get healthy, and aim to be further up front next weekend.”

McElrath Takes a Step Forward
Shane McElrath qualified directly through his heat race, a positive step after recent rounds.
“I’m glad I didn’t have to go through the LCQ this week,” said McElrath. “It’s still not where we want to be, but it’s a step forward.”
McElrath continues to build momentum as the championship progresses.

Craig Sidelined After First-Turn Incident
Christian Craig endured another difficult start to his night, caught in a first-turn incident that resulted in a heavy crash. The incident left him with a broken finger, a banged-up hand, and general soreness.
“I’m really bummed for the team and myself,” Craig said. “We’ve been putting in the work and I felt better coming into this weekend. I’ll rest up and hope to be back next weekend.”
