Charli Cannon in the Pursuit of Victory: Championing Women in Motorsport and Elite Sport!
Charli Cannon, Australia’s leading female motocross athlete, has landed in the United States to take on America’s best in the 2025 AMA Women’s Motocross Championship. Backed by key partners including Quad Lock, American Honda, Honda Australia, Polyflor, Berry Sweet, Tempur, National Finance and Loans, and FLY Racing, Cannon represents not only a pursuit of victory, but the growing presence and power of women in motocross, the motorcycle industry, and elite-level competition.
Motocross has long been a male-dominated sport, but women now account for over 10% of motorcyclists globally. Their rising participation, speed, and skill have captured global attention, proving that women deserve a larger platform and deeper support in the racing world.
Brandon Wilson, American Honda’s Honda Power Sports & Products Racing and Advertising Manager, acknowledges this positive shift:
“The level of women’s racing around the world has dramatically improved, and the number of women riders continues to grow. We’re proud to see riders like Charli Cannon compete at the highest level. She’s a great addition to the 2025 AMA Women’s Championship. Honda has several female riders competing across multiple disciplines,” said Wilson
Charli joins the Quad Lock Honda Team with the full backing of her Factory Honda Australia supporters. Quad Lock Honda’s Team Principal Martin Davalos, a respected name in American motocross, welcomed her with high praise:
“Charli is the real deal. I’ve seen her ride—she’s fast, focused, and fearless. As a father of a young daughter, I want to show her and girls everywhere that anything is possible. We’re proud to have Charli on the team,” said Davalos
Dom Storey, Global Sports Marketing Lead at Quad Lock, reinforced the brand’s commitment to empowering women in high-performance environments:
“We’re thrilled to support Charli Cannon. Her drive, courage, and willingness to compete at the highest level embody what Quad Lock stands for. We believe in chasing dreams without borders and breaking down barriers,” said Storey
Despite recently sustaining an injury in a practice crash, Charli is determined to race the opening rounds with grit and focus:
“I’m not at 100% but I’ve trained too hard and come too far not to line up. Like every professional rider, I’ll manage the pain, stay smart, and aim to collect as many points as possible in the early rounds. I’m racing for the championship, not just a single round. I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and I’ll give it everything I’ve got,” said Cannon
As Charli Cannon embarks on this international campaign, she carries the hopes of many—not just as a champion racer, but as a trailblazer for women in motorsport, athletes breaking barriers, and a future where performance and passion know no boundaries.
