Quad Lock Honda Delivers Strong Performance and Purpose at AMA Supercross Round 7!
Round 7 of the AMA Supercross Championship marked a meaningful and competitive weekend, as teams and riders honoured service men and women with commemorative graphics, riding gear, and uniforms.
The Quad Lock Honda team proudly contributed to the occasion, providing 20 gift packs to the first 20 service men and women in attendance. The initiative was a resounding success and will become a cornerstone of the team’s efforts moving forward.

“It was great to give back to those that put the safety of our country first,” said Shane McElrath.
On track, all three riders advanced from their respective heat races into the main event. Joey Savatgy delivered a standout performance, finishing second in his heat race after passing Eli Tomac and maintaining pace with eventual main event winner Hunter Lawrence. The ride highlighted the continued progression of both Savatgy and the team.
“That was awesome—second in the heat race, racing with Hunter and passing Eli. I can’t say I’ve done that many times in my career. It really shows the progression we are making. A special thanks to American Honda and Team HRC Honda Progressive for the additional technical support this weekend,” Savatgy said.

In the main event, Savatgy secured a strong start but lost ground in turn one. Charging forward, he was on track for a top-six finish before a heavy crash in the whoops. Demonstrating resilience, he remounted and fought back from 10th to finish 7th, moving into seventh overall in the championship standings.
“We’ve been moving forward each round. To come back and make passes tonight shows how strong we’re becoming. The heat race showed our speed, and the final showed our stamina. It also showed we can’t afford mistakes if we want to be in the top five. I’m confident we found something this weekend—we’re in a good place,” he added.

The round also marked a milestone for the team, with two riders finishing inside the top 10 for the first time this season, including Christian Craig securing his first top-10 result of the year with ninth place.
“I know I need to be further up, but this was a great step forward. Ninth is a positive for me and the team. Yarrive keeps reminding me there’s a process, and we’re building. I felt my pace was solid—I just need to put together more consistent laps. We’ve made progress, and we’ll keep pushing,” Craig said.

McElrath matched his season-best finish with 13th, acknowledging both progress and areas for improvement.
“My best laps are solid, but my inconsistency is holding me back. I can’t be in the top 10 with that gap. This weekend was positive—we’ve turned a page—but I need to improve my endurance and put together complete races,” McElrath explained.
Team Principal Martin Davalos reflected on a weekend of growth and opportunity.

“Joey’s heat race was spectacular, and his charge in the final showed real confidence. Christian made strong progress, and Shane understands what he needs to improve. Overall, we’re very happy, .the bikes are working well, and having two riders in the top 10 in such a competitive field is a big step. We’ll keep pushing toward the podium; we know we have the capability,” Davalos said.
The team now turns its focus to Round 8 at the iconic Daytona Supercross.
