The Quad Lock Honda Team enters Round 1 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship carrying momentum from a strong 2026 Supercross season, a season that demonstrated both the competitiveness and resilience of the growing program.

The team finished as high as fourth place during the Supercross season and secured eighth overall in the championship standings. However, the overall result arguably fails to reflect the team’s true competitiveness, with Joey Savatgy missing multiple rounds after suffering separate foot and wrist injuries throughout the season.

With Savatgy continuing his recovery and the team committed to ensuring he returns fully fit, Quad Lock Honda has recruited back-to-back Australian Champion and two-time winning member of Australia’s MXoN Team, Kyle Webster, for selected appearances with number 76.

Savatgy admits he is frustrated and understands the realities of professional racing.

“This sport can be brutal. One minute you feel like you are on top of the world and the next minute it feels like a train has hit you. We had a solid season, I am now focused on my return to racing later this year.”

Webster says the opportunity to race in America remains something every rider dreams about.

“I came into this later in my career and I’m doing this in my late 20s and early 30s, so naturally you wonder what could have happened if I came earlier. The level here is incredible and racing against the best riders in the world teaches you so much. I will do as many races in America as my schedule allows. I am fortunate that we can do this together with Yarrive, American Honda, Honda Australia, Berry Sweet and Quad Lock, I still pinch myself, every time I come here”

The team’s 250 rider, Brodie Connolly, is edging closer to race-ready status, with the team choosing patience over rushing his return.

“It’s been tough. I came to America for my first season and broke my back before I even got to race. I have been back riding for six weeks and obviously want to race, but the team wants me completely healthy and ultimately they have my best interests at heart.”

Elsewhere within the program, Charli Cannon returns next week for Round 1 of WMX, while Shane McElrath has now turned his attention toward the 250 program and will begin testing in early June.

Christian Craig will race the outdoor season and arrives at a venue he knows extremely well.

“I have had so much fun with this team and I’m excited to get outdoors and race at Pala. Testing has gone really well and I feel ready to go racing, this is a track I have had some great success on.”

This weekend also marks something special for the team and working with American Honda.

Round 1 of Pro Motocross serves as the public launch of Honda’s all-new 2027 CRF450R, with the new model arriving in dealerships later this year. To celebrate the launch and align with Honda’s future direction, Quad Lock Honda will debut an all-new red and blue race scheme inspired directly by Honda’s 2027 visual identity.

The design represents more than graphics.

It represents the pride the team has in being trusted to help showcase the future look of Honda.

Working alongside American Honda and Sam from SKDA, Yarrive and the team developed a look that blends Honda’s future identity with the team’s partners and personality, creating a motorcycle that celebrates both the future of Honda and the growth of the Quad Lock Honda program.

For the team, this weekend is more than Round 1.

It is an opportunity to proudly represent the next generation of Honda.

Round 1 of AMA Pro Motocross takes place this weekend at Pala Raceway.
