Savatgy 4th, McElrath 6th, Wilson 8th — Quad Lock Honda Delivers in Philadelphia
The Quad Lock Honda Team delivered one of its strongest performances of the season in Philadelphia, with all four riders qualifying for the main event for a third consecutive weekend, continuing a run of consistency that few teams in the AMA Supercross Championship can match.
Qualifying set the tone, with all four riders placing inside the top 12. Shane McElrath stood out with a season-best session in 7th, continuing his steady progression.
“The past month has been good. I’ve knuckled down, put in the laps and really focused on my riding,” said McElrath.
Conditions quickly shifted as rain hit the circuit, turning a fast, tacky track into a demanding mud test, separating those who could adapt and execute under pressure.

In Heat 1, Dean Wilson and Christian Craig delivered solid rides, finishing 6th and 7th respectively.
Heat 2, however, marked a milestone moment for the team. Joey Savatgy grabbed the holeshot and led early, navigating the fine line between speed and survival in the mud. After briefly losing the lead, he regrouped and charged back to take the win, securing both his and the team’s first premier class heat race victory. McElrath added to the momentum, charging from the back to 4th. All four riders advanced to the main event.
“Wow, that was tough and fun. These conditions bring back childhood memories, riding in the rain, feeling the bike move around. I was pumped, and pumped for the team,” said Savatgy.

In the main event, starts and visibility proved critical in the challenging conditions. The Quad Lock Honda riders rose to the occasion.
Savatgy delivered a composed and determined ride to finish 4th, continuing his run of top-tier results. McElrath once again showed grit, working his way through the field to secure 6th. Wilson produced one of his strongest finishes in recent years with 8th, while Craig, after an early crash, fought back to 15th. Despite the result, Savatgy remains focused on more.
“I can’t be too disappointed, I won the heat and finished 4th. But I want that podium. The guys up front are riding really well, and I need to find a bit more to be right there with them,” he said.

McElrath echoed the sentiment of progress, while acknowledging the impact of his start.
“I’m happy with 6th, but you always wonder what could have been with a better start. It’s been a tough season, so I’ll take it and keep building into the final rounds,” he said.
Wilson was equally encouraged by his result, particularly given his limited time back racing in the US.

“8th is a great result. If you told me that coming in, I would’ve taken it. I felt like we could’ve been even better, I got held up at times, which is tough in these conditions, but overall it was a really positive night. We’re racing the best in the world, and we’re right there with them,” said Wilson.
For Christian Craig, it was another frustrating outing despite strong underlying form.
“These small mistakes are costing me. I feel good during the week and the bike is working great, but I need to put it together on race day. I’ll keep pushing and stay positive,” he said.

With two rounds remaining, the team heads to Denver with clear momentum. Savatgy is firmly in the fight for 6th overall, McElrath is building consistency inside the top 10, Wilson continues to improve, and Craig remains focused on converting speed into results.
